Milwaukee Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova Profile

Ersan Ilyasova is a Turkish Basketball player currently playing in the NBA. He started his career in Ulker playing in the pro Turkish league. In 2004-2005 Ersan was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round. He didn’t play any games for the Bucks that season but instead played for the Tulsa 66ers in the D-League.

The following season, Ersan Ilyasova played 65 games for the Bucks where he average six points per game and three rebounds per game in 15 minutes of play. The next two seasons he spent in the Euroleague in Spain playing for Barcelona. In July of 2009, he signed a two year contract worth seven million dollars with the Milwaukee Bucks. Ersan is now a starter seeing major minutes in the NBA.

Ersan Ilyasova Scouting Report

Ersan is 6’10 and weighs around 107 kilograms. His natural position is at small forward, but he is comfortable playing anything except for center. He is as versatile of players you can find in the NBA. Many people compare his game to Hidayet Turkoglu, partly because they are both of Turkish Nationality, but the similarities run deeper than that. Since they are both long players who can both shoot the ball and dribble, they create match up nightmares for opposing defenses.

One of Ersan Ilyasova’s favorite plays is dribbling around near the three point line and then creating room by stepping back for a three pointer. His shot is a little unorthodox but he’s capable of shooting it at a decent percentage and from practically anywhere on the floor.

Ersan’s biggest strength comes in his activity level when he is on the floor. You will be hard pressed to ever find him standing still. On offense, if he doesn’t have the ball, he will set screens, trying to make back cuts, and challenge the offensive boards whenever there’s the slighest of chance. On defense, he will play as hard defense as you can find a 6’10 European play. Besides that, he will be active defender as a help defender as well, able to both step in to take a charge or creating deflections leading to steals.

Ersan Ilyasova is a complete player and doesn’t really have a weakness in his game. At 22 years of age, he is one of the brightest NBA prospects of this year.

Ersan Ilyasova Predictions

Ersan has already shown flashes of his true potential this season starting for the Milwaukee Bucks. He is a monster of a rebounder and can score in the 20′s with ease and still maintain good shooting percentages. His only apparent weakness is forcing the issue at times and taking tough shots when he shouldn’t be. As he learns about the game and accumulates more experience. He will surely improve as he gets more playing time and his coach Scott Skiles has more confidence in him.

Ersan Ilyasova will hopefully fill that hole being left by Hedo Turkoglu and Mehmet Okur as they approach the downward slope of their career. I am looking forward to following his career as I am certain Ersan Ilyasova will be an All-Star in the near future.

NBA 2009 2010 Preview

NBA 2010 Preview

The 2009-2010 NBA season is just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited. Last season was the most fun I think I’ve had wathing sports since the Michael Jordan days. The tight regular season chase, the MVP race, the amazing playoff series’ that we witnessed, and the final conclusion with Kobe finally winning that all elusive fourth title.

NBA Western Conference 2010 Preview

The Western conference will again be lead and dominated by the Los Angeles Lakers this season. They have added Ron Artest and only lost Trevor Ariza. A healthy Andrew Byrnum will also negate any improvements that other teams have done. The San Antonio Spurs with their addition of Richard Jefferson, Antonio McDyess, and Theo Ratliff should help them get back to the Western Conference Finals and challenge the Lakers somewhat. The Denver Nuggets were cLose Weight Exercise/”>Lose Weight Exercise last year, but without any major additions this year it will be hard to envision them going too far. The Portland Trailblazers despite a unsuccessful offseason will be better than last year especially if Greg Oden gets his act together, and will certainly be a dangerous foe capable of taking anyone down. The Dallas Mavericks acquisition of Shawn Marion won’t change too much for Cuban’s team who is couple years away from needing a fresh start.

NBA Eastern Conference 2010 Preview

The Eastern Conference ‘big three’ if you will all got even better than last year and there should be no doubt who the top 3 teams of the conference will be. The Orlando Magic were among the most active teams this year with additions of Vince Carter, Matt Barnes, Brandon Bass, and Jason Williams while losing out Hedo Turkoglu, Courtney Lee, and Rafer Alston. Still the Magic won’t feel all that confident when you consider the team that they barely beat in 7 games last year, the Boston Celtics, will have possibly a healthy Kevin Garnett and a playoff veteran at backup, Rasheed Wallace. Despite all this, the favorites out in the East should still be the Cleveland Cavaliers. Let’s not forget what an amazing season they had last year until they bumped heads with the Magic and all their weaknesses were revealed. Luckily for them they addressed all these issues with the additions of Shaquille O’Neal, Anthony Parker, Leon Powe and Jamario Moon while only losing out Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. The other interesting teams out in the East are the Washington Wizards which will see the return of Gilbert Arenas with new acquisitions Mike Miller and Randy Foye. The Toronto Raptors are another team who made major moves and could perhaps creep in the playoffs.

Overall the 2009-2010 NBA season should be truly exciting with several of the top teams really stacked with talent chasing that championship trophy. I leave you now with my predictions for the 2010 NBA season:

2010 MVP: LeBron James
2010 Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin
2010 Most Improved Player: Greg Oden
2010 Sixth Man of the Year: Ron Artest
2010 Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard

That wraps up the 2010 NBA preview, oh and before I forget…the LA Lakers WILL repeat.

WoW Cataclysm

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

It was announced at Blizzcon today that World of Warcraft will release a new expansion called World of Warcraft Cataclysm. The expansion will feature several new races, along with the possibility to play several new classes with your favorite race.

One disappointing part of WoW Cataclym is the lack of a new class and also the lack of a new continent. On top of this, the level cap has only been increase to level 85 in WOW: Cataclysm.

The big special part of the expansion is suppose to be this cataclysmic event where all of Azeroth is transformed into something new. There will now also be the option to fly in Azeroth thanks to the Cataclysmic events that have affected the World of Warcraft. This feature alone will make millions of people hungry for a WoW Cataclysm Beta Key.

I guess it will be interesting to see the 56 point talents, and the new proffesions in WoW Cataclysm. But it is really not an exciting expansion as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure some of my friends will play it, and waste their time powerleveling their Horde Goblin and Alliance Worgen characters to level 85, but it all seems like a waste of time to me.

Blizzard announced at Blizzcon 2009 the arrival of a new expansion – WoW Cataclysmbut it might actually be the end of the most popular game of all time.

2009 NBA Playoffs – Best Ever

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I somehow managed to watch every single game in the 2009 NBA Playoffs and I must say they have been the best playoffs I’ve ever seen.

Boston Celtics-Chicago Bulls was probably the best first round series ever. The Houston Rockets-LA Lakers have was the most surprising second round ever. And now the Orlando Magic-Cleveland Cavaliers are proving to be the best Conference Finals ever. It’s a great time to be an NBA fan. We’re truly witnessing something special. The NBA c

I’m not really worried if we’re going to have that dream Kobe-Lebron final…I’m just worried what I’m going to do for the 5 months after the NBA season ends. Let’s hope things pickup on the China NBA end so we have some other form of entertainment.

Ben Gordon is Clutch

Monday, April 27th, 2009

We all knew Ben Gordon was a bucket machine, and sure he’s had his fair share of late game heroics in past regular seasons, but man oh man this guy is a BALLER.

Watching U-Conn shooting stars Ray Allen and Ben Gordon going at it has been one of the most enjoyable NBA experiences I’ve had in a while. It’s one thing to just use your raw athletic power to drive to the hoop in the clutch like LeBron or Wade, but shooting threes from downtown with the whole team trying to shut you down and winning ball games is just something else.

Whenever I see Ben Gordon shooting a jump shot I say to myself ‘horrible shot’, but this guy seems to shoot better with people on him. He’s a basketball masochist.

Ben Gordon you’ve just made yourself a new fan, now keep your hand on the clutch and keep on rollinnnn.

A Basketball How to Site

Monday, April 20th, 2009

I don’t really browse the internet for basketball information anymore but what I did find today was quite hilarious, a basketball how to site! I’m curious as to which type of people will use this basketball how to site – is it aliens, babies, cavemen? Basketball how to lessons I guess is what I should have been blogging all along, apparently it gets several hundred thousand searches each month.
